Restylane® is a non-animal based hyaluronic acid used to treat moderate to severe facial wrinkles such as the nasolabial folds. It is the only cosmetic dermal filler of its kind. Hyaluronic acid is a natural occurring substance in the human body and provides volume and fullness to skin. Allergy testing is not required and it is fully biocompatible.

Restylane® will generally last twice as long as collagen and on the average lasts 6-9 months. Touch up treatments before Restylane® has been fully absorbed will help to enhance its effect.

Although pretesting is not necessary, there are some precautions to take prior to treatment. Avoid using aspirin, St. John’s wort, high doses of Vitamin E or products such as Advil of Ibuprofen prior to treatment as this could contribute to increased bruising or bleeding at the site of injection.

Topical anesthesia is used so that there is minimal discomfort during injection. Restylane® is injected directly into the skin with an ultra fine needle and results are instantaneous. There may be some swelling or redness at the injection site, which will usually resolve in two to three days.

Restylane® may be combined with Botox to produce even more favorable results. This combination will leave your skin looking youthful and refreshed for months!
